Newborn #1 ~ Baby Kade

All of the photos you captured were truly  amazing and I can’t thank you enough for the opportunity you gave us to capture our family at such a special time, an opportunity we wouldn’t have otherwise had. We will be forever grateful! We will have the memories forever captured in beautiful photographs thanks to you!

If I had to choose one photo to call my favorite it would have to be the one attached below. Something is so innocent about this photo. The lamb he is holding really illustrates just how tiny he was and symbolizes my sons gentleness, tenderness, purity. The photo reminds me that I will always watch after my little lamb.

Newborn #2 ~ Baby Mila

All of the photographs that you took of Mila were amazing, but this one has a special meaning for me. Last Christmas my husband surprised me with my childhood Radio Flyer wagon completely restored. My parents gave me this wagon for my 1st Christmas, and i have many fond memories playing with it. And as you know, we adopted Mila in June of this year. So, Matt had restored the Wagon before we adopted her…in a weird way he was getting it restored for Mila, without knowing it.

It something i enjoyed very much as a child, which is why we decided to have you include it in Milas newborn pictures.

Newborn #5 ~ Baby Keeva

My personal favorite is what I have called “Grandma’s Girl” (#10).  Keeva was conceived on what would have been my Grandmother’s 90th birthday. She and I always had a special bond that no one in the family understood. I went to her, in Idaho, last summer to bring her home from the hospital after finding out her breast cancer had spread.  Thinking she would stabilize in a few days and I would be back in a month with the kids to visit, I left the kids and family at home to have some time with her.  Sadly, we lost her that week unexpectedly.  I was able to be with her for her last days and moments of life as I was her caretaker as we arranged hospice care.  I helped my mom to take care of the details that followed,  and when I cleaned out her house, I brought home one of her favorite scarves as one of the only things I wanted of hers.  I can picture her wearing this pink scarf, with her blue eyes twinkling and always laughing.

Thank you for wrapping my precious girl in her scarf, grandma may never be able to wrap her arms around her, but I know she is wrapped in her love. Keeva is  the only grandchild that will never meet her, but I know that grandma is with her and a part of her. Keeva has her same sparkling blue eyes and easy laugh. Her love for music (and attempted singing already) was passed down as well.  When I look at this picture, I see Grandma Jane with her.  The pink in the scarf symbolizes to me how breast cancer has touched my family and hoping that wrapped in her love, my daughter will never have this battle.  This one will hang in my bedroom.

Thank you for your gift, it has given me memories to last a lifetime (and theirs)!

Newborn #6 ~ Baby Joey

You know we love all of the photos and moments you have captured for us with Joey. We truly treasure them all! But I think this is probably my favorite from his newborn session. He is just so precious and sleeping so peacefully in this shot (which is hard to come by these days LOL!). I have a canvas and an ornament of this particular pose. 😉

Newborn #7 ~ Baby Finnley

This is our favorite because of Finnley’s precious smile! It shows her true character and personality… a smiley happy baby.   With being born at 32 weeks and staying in the NICU for 6 weeks being poked and prodded with oxygen tubes, feeding tubes, PICC lines and countless IVs, having you capture a healthy, smiling and content baby means more than words can express.  We are forever grateful for this moment suspended in time!

Newborn #8 ~ Baby Luna

Gosh, it took me so long to pick just one. Every time I look at the photos I swear my heart skips a beat. I love this photo because it truly captures our Luna as I see her every time I look at her-as the sweetest baby I have ever met.  I just love how you have her perfectly placed hand under her chubby cheeks, with her adorable crossed ankles, all while showing off her impressive rolls of chub. Her middle name (Kealohamakamaeokahokulani) means treasured gift of love from the starry heavens and this photo certainly captured that meaning.

Newborn #9 ~ Baby Avery

It was so hard to choose only 1 favorite picture because you have this incredible talent of making each and every photo of a sleeping newborn look different. But then I realized my favorite photo was right under my nose. The one that I loved so much I had Ming load it into my navigation system so that I see it every time I start the car. I even try avoid using the navigation because I like to see her picture there but unfortunately I am directionally challenged lol.  Now onto why I adore this particular photo so much.  I couldn’t help but sneak into the studio a few times to watch you in action.  You were so patient and made sure every little detail was perfect.  From her toes to the placement of her tiny fingers.  I remember thinking to myself “Let’s move onto the next fun pose! Her knee looks good enough there”.  How naive was I?  Now I can’t help but scrutinize every little detail of other newborn portraits that I come across.  I even pointed out to my mom once how that baby’s hands could have been positioned better lol.  And of course anyone who knows me knows how much I love the color purple, all shades of purple.  Avery’s nursery is lavender and that did not come as a surprise to friends and family.  All of that aside…it is just such a serene photo of our baby girl.  I spent 39 weeks imagining what she would look like.  I even had our pictures merged in a fun phone app to see what features she could possibly inherit.  I was beyond excited to see her on the 4D ultrasound.  But nothing could have prepared me for the moment that I met my daughter.  Labor was not easy and delivery was no walk in the park.  After 28 hours of labor she finally arrived via c-section.  It was chaotic and wild and for the first few days I was so tired and sleep deprived.  This photo captures the peace and contentment that followed the storm.  It still makes me smile every time I look at it.  It is a constant reminder of how far we’ve come.  I am so happy that we decided to book our maternity and newborn sessions with you because now we have memories in print that we can cherish forever.

Newborn #10 ~ Baby Lorraine

As a mother, there are so many reasons that I love this photo. When I look at this photo I see how truly blessed Matthew and I are. 16 years ago I was told I couldn’t conceive children naturally. As a young girl, this crushed me because I always dreamed about having children and being pregnant. When I met my husband, I was very honest about the struggles we would face having babies on our own. He totally supported me and told me it would all be figured out. He was so positive.

Soon after we found out we were pregnant. My Doctor actually teared when she saw the baby’s heartbeat on the ultrasound. We all agreed this baby was a miracle!

4 years later, two more blessings were added to our family.

I pinch myself when I see this photo. My 3 little blessings that I was able to carry to term in my belly.

I can’t believe these little humans are all mine 🙂
